Golf Almerimar is a flat course, with wide
fairways and wide greens. Opened in 1976, it was designed by
Gary Player and Ron Kirby. A beautiful spot due to the lakes
and palm trees on the course, Almerimar Golf Club is attached
to the AR Almerimar Hotel and is located 40 minutes from the
Almeria airport. It was expanded to 27 holes in 2005. It has
wide treed lined fairways and large greens which are maintained
and fast to play on. There are water features at several holes.
The 100 metre over the lake shot to reach the par 3 hole 12 is
a real challenge. The lush vegetation affords a pleasant oasis-style
feel to a round as the palm trees and lakes create spots of spectacular
beauty. Improvements include a new irrigation system, new lake
at tee 1, tees and fairways have been improved, greens have been
replaced and increased in size, bunkers have been renewed and
some have been extended, new bunkers on holes 5 and 7, some tees
have been elevated, all holes have been extended, the practice
facilities have been improved.

Desert Springs Golf Club
Cuevas de Almanzora, Almeria, Spain
The Indiana course is the first desert course in Europe and has
been built to full USGA specifications and quality standards
of the now famous desert courses of Arizona and California. It
presents unforgettable views, and golf of such a dramatic nature
that it can be said to have taken not only desert golf but also
golf in general in this part of Spain, to a new level of excellence.
"We have created a course which really can be enjoyed by
players of all different standards," said course designer
Peter McEvoy. "We have kept the fairways generous and ensured
that the less expert player can enjoy and improve his game whilst
absorbing the awesome landscape and views that encompass The
Indiana". Every hole has features which can be brought into
play: the springs, watercourses, dry river beds, rock and cactus
areas and bunkers are strategically located to test the skills
of golf's leading players when playing off the championship tees.

Valle Del Este Golf Resort
Vera, Almeria, Spain
The Valle del Este golf course opened in 2002 and was designed
by José Canales, who integrated the course into the surrounding
landscape by making use of indigenous vegetation. There is a
good combination of very challenging holes, with other less strenuous
holes. The course design and setting make it quite spectacular.
The tees are particularly noteworthy, positioned on small raised
platforms surrounded by volcanic rock. The, fairways are wide
and there are a lot of large sand bunkers on the course as well
as 3 lakes and several waterfalls. All in all, a real challenge
for players of all levels. Located 40 km north of Almeria airport,
10 minutes from the beaches of Vera, Mojacar and Garrucha and
an hour from the cities of Almeria and Murcia.
